If there’s a left side of an issue and a right side of an issue, it’s common for Libertarians to have a position so far to the left, that they find themselves on the right. And vice versa. It’s the circle of life.
That’s why it’s so hard to pigeonhole a Libertarian. They’re fiercely independent and vigorously defend their independence when they feel it’s threatened. And although Libertarians understand -- and even sympathize -- with many of the Democratic platforms, they’ll usually end up voting Republican because they yearn for the good old days.
