Smooth coated, competitive, prideful and “bird minded,” Pointers are known for their ability to point towards birds and small game. This vigorous beast is no dog for a beginner though, as its exercise and training needs are significant. You’ll need to take it on long runs and be prepared to handle their muscular stubbornness. Once properly trained, this dog truly shines as man’s best friend.
Pointers love nothing more than spending time with family, and will get along with both adults and kids. When outside, they may be wild, but once back at home, will settle in to be just one of the gang.
Your Pointer will need a safe place for long runs to unleash its unrelenting energy. It’s best that they live inside the house as Pointers are very dependent on their owner’s affection and love.
